Early Sunday afternoon, school board president Matt Gossman informed the board of education of the death of board member Steve Ramey, who lost a valiant battle with cancer. Mr. Ramey unselfishly served as a board of education member for the past two years, and exhibited the leadership trait of placing the best interests of the children and Ada schools staff entrusted to his care as a core value in the role he had accepted. While I had the honor of knowing Mr. Ramey for eight short months, his belief in the mission of Ada Schools was undeniable.
We offer our condolences and prayers to Mr. Ramey's wife, Terra, and daughter Taylor. Please be supportive of them through this personal tragedy.
